I think I'm at the point where getting an actual diagnosis (Aspergers/HFA) would be beneficial and even empowering. I'm really nervous, because I hate relying on stupid doctors to interpret my thought process based on a 15 minute meeting or whatever. Well, anyway, I need to find a family doctor here, and then find a time when I can actually make it in without 3 kids distracting us. We'll see, it might take a couple of months, just for the inital appointment. But I do think it will help me to have it confirmed, or have proof of what I already know to be true.

I'm going to have a shirt made that says this:

NO I'm not the babysitter...YES I am their mother
YES all three of them are mine
YES I am young...NO I'm not as young as I look
BUT if you do the math, YES I was "too young" to be a mom
When I had my first, my second, and maybe even my third
YES I'm married...NO he's not the father of all three of them
IN FACT they all have different father's

Now that I've answered all of your questions, feel free to SILENTLY judge me without me ever having to speak to you

I'm so sick of feeling like I'm obligated to answer people's ignorant questions. WTF is it anybody's business if I'm the fucking babysitter or if I'm the mother? Seriously...

Moving Day Tomorrow

Sorry I haven't been around much. Hopefully after we get settled into the new place, I'll be able to update and comment more.

But, yay! This is our last night in this crappy little slum.

May. 30th, 2007

I have so much work to do between today and tomorrow, I'm not sure it's all gonna get done. I need to make a list to keep me on track and make sure I don't get sidetracked. SO

Bring Skylar to school
Go to the bank to get money for taxi and laundromat
Put K to bed and Lexie in the bath
Gather up all the laundry, laundry soap and garbage bags
Clear everything out of the bathroom except what's essential
Wash walls
Wash tub

Fuck, we need to MOVE NOW. Mark was sleeping last night, and a fucking mouse chewed on his finger! That's fucking disgusting. He had to take the day off work and go to the clinic for a tetanus shot. YUCK, YUCK. He's gonna talk to our landlord tomorrow, and tell him that we might be out June 1st, July 1st at the latest. Hopefully he'll accept that. We've got a place to look at on Saturday, hopefully it suits our needs and they'll rent to us.

Richard spent the night last so he could wake up early to catch his flight to Toronto. I'm so excited for him! I hope his audition goes well.

And did I mention that we're potty training? We started with Kaiden about three weeks ago, and he's doing great. When I put him in cloth training pants (usually every other day for an hour or two), he stays completely dry, only had 1 accident. He LOVES his new potty. Soon, I'll start keeping trainers on him for all of his waking hours, i just need to go out and stock up on them, we've only got 2 pairs right now. We should have him daytime pee trained by the end of the summer, then we'll worry about the rest. He caught on so quickly, I really thought it would be more difficult.

My mom came down for the day today. We brought the boys to Value Village, and then to visit my brother for a while. Then, we dropped the boys off and took Lexie to the mall. It was a pretty good day. I don't get to see my mom enough. I bought myself a watch (finally), some of those really comfy foam sandals, and a binder to use as my flylady control journal (whenever I get off my butt and start trying that again). I was going to get myself a wireless router so I can access our home internet from this computer, but the asshole at Source tried telling me that I HAD to buy a wireless card for our PC ($150) or it wouldn't work. Way to upsell....I mean turn the customer away. I'll go somewhere else, thank you. Oooh, and I finally bought myself a new bra...woohoo.

My friend Ashley was being induced this morning, so she should have a brand new baby by now. Yay!

Tuesday, my aunt is watching the kids so I can go and write my driver's test...hopefully I'll come home with my G1, or learner's, or whatever the heck it's called out here. That would be nice, even though I don't think I could ever ACTUALLY drive with my spatial/anxiety/inability to focus issues. Oh, well, I'll be one of those people with their license who never actually drives. Yay for public transportation.

Blah

Today is boring. I'm tired and my head kind of hurts. I should be cleaning my house, it's a disaster. But, I'm not. I haven't even bothered to shower yet. I will soon, maybe. Mark took Kaiden out for lunch and they're going to pick up his bonus check. Nothing else happening today, really. Blah.

Holy Shit

Mark's boss talked to him about his three month raise today. Not only is he going to be earning an extra $2.50/hour (which is totally unexpected -- we were thinking maybe an extra dollar, two if we were really lucky), but his boss is making it retroactive from the day he started! So, tomorrow, he can go pick up a bonus check (tax free) for $2.50 for every hour he's worked there. That's gonna be a huge bonus check. I've never even heard of a boss doing that...I suppose when you normally work for places that want as much work for as little pay as possible, it doesn't happen.

We're going to buy ourselves a new vaccuum cleaner, buy the kids each a couple of new outfits, and put the rest in the bank to put a deposit on a new apartment/house. And now that he's making an extra...oh $100/week....we can definately afford the type of place we're wanting to rent. Now we just have to convince the potential landlords to rent to us.

My mom is giving us $40 to buy ourselves some wine or something to celebrate. That's nice.

I did get out of the house today. Brought Kaiden and Lexie to Metro, took them to Play Paradise, and cool little indoor playground (we've never been there before, it was nice, much calmer than Go Bananas). I got a couple of containers for their clother (woohoo boring I know). Everybody was right...it did me a lot of good to get out.

Friday

I took Lexie and Kaiden and met Michelle (from GM) and her little boy, Josh, at the aquarium. It was nice to meet another GM, and we had a lot of fun. Josh is such a sweetheart. Since it was a holiday, it was sooo busy in there...yuck. It ended up taking me 4 fucking hours to get home, when it should only take me an hour. First, I decided to walk to the skytrain because my shoulders were sore and I was afraid that the bus driver would make me lift the stroller up instead of letting me use the lift (most of the busses that run around there are not the low-floor kind), that added a half hour onto my trip, which I didn't mind.

But, when we got to the Skytrain, it just sat there for ten minutes before going. Then it sat for another ten minutes at the next stop. The train was really crowded buy the time we finally got to the next stop.I had the stroller right up against the doors, and there was another stroller beside me, so we were basically blocking the doorway (no, we didn't have a choice) on that side. So whe the doors opened up, instead of waiting for some room to open up, these two men step in front of our strollers. The people behind us were trying to tell them that they needed to get off the train and asked them to get step off so one of the strollers could get off and let everybody out before we got back on. They weren't going to until someone pointed out that the train wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. So, I got the stroller off and let the people behind me off the train, and the two assholes, along with about 6 other people, decided to sneak n the train before I could get back on. There wasn't enough room for me to get the stroller back on. I told everyone that there was no way I was getting off the train, I was on there first. Fuck that. Eventually everybody moved around to give me room to get on, only because some guy that was waiting for the train yelled at them. Err.

So, we finally get to the next station and we're told to get off the train and switch tracks....go to the next station and we have to get off this train, cross to the other Skytrain line and ride the long way around the city. When I got to the Comercial Drive platform, there were these two huge guys fighting and I was really scared....of course when I get on the train one of them sit right behind me. Fuck I was scared. Then the guy beside me drops a full bottle of wine and there's glass everywhere and the fucking train smells disgusting. We had to switch trains one more time and then were finally on our way home. What a fucking trip. Poor kids got home 2 hours late for dinner and right before bedtime. I swear, everytime I try to take the kids somewhere like that on my own, I have a huge problem with the skytrain or bus or something.

Damn Easter Bunny

Ugh, now that my kids are getting older and interacting with more kids their own age...going to school, etc. Easter, Christmas, and losing baby teeth has become a huge pain in the ass.  I WILL NOT encourage my children to lie...I WILL NOT tell my children that the fact that the Easter bunny is just a story is "our little secret"... and I don't care who doesn't like it. I mean, I respect every parent's right to tell their children what they want and have their children believe in the "magic" of Santa Clause and the tooth fairy. But what about my children's right to be taught that the truth and that telling the truth is NOT a bad thing. I know it's a touchy situation...I don't want my children to ruin other kids' good time. But at the same time, I feel that what other adults are telling my children about these things could be dangerous to their thought process or even their safety security.
